Cheryl has been a shining example of leadership and compassion in the Lethbridge community for over 30 years. I first met Cheryl when she was offering safe, supportive spaces for young people aging out of Children Services, and since then she has only deepened her commitment to our community.
As a business leader, instructor, philanthropist, and leadership coach, she has touched countless lives and stood as a role model of integrity. I trust Cheryl whole-heartedly to do what is right, even when it is difficult or unpopular, and to support every individual with humility and respect. Cheryl’s unwavering dedication to fairness, inclusion, and ethical leadership is exactly what our school board needs.

Platform Position Points
As a lifelong learner, I support Public Education. Our community and our country is better when it has informed citizens that have knowledge, skills, and social experiences from a strong public education system. Public Education is worth fighting for.

Learning Spaces
Classrooms and learning spaces should be welcoming, accessible, and well equipped to serve learner needs. Teachers want to engage in student-centred activity and can't do that in overstuffed, under-resourced classrooms. As a trustee, I will collaborate to build conditions where all students can have an engaging and motivating learning environment.

Resources
Adequate school resources are associated with positive student outcomes. As a trustee I will use my experience with budgets, resource acquisition, and resource allocation to contribute thoughtful, meaningful, and practical approaches to ensure resources are first going to classrooms. I will advocate and apply pressure to obtain more resources for Lethbridge public schools.

Community
Schools are places for learning both academic and social skills. Public education helps students learn understanding, respect, and empathy for others. This results in stronger, more inclusive communities where people can prosper. As a trustee I will stand against any policy or practice that harms, humiliates, or is hostile towards students.
